Frequently Asked Questions
Where is training held?
We bring the training to you. Keystone Preparedness provides on-site training at workplaces, schools, churches, community organizations, public libraries, and other suitable host locations throughout Southeastern Pennsylvania and Greater Philadelphia. Location and space requirements are discussed when scheduling.
How does blended learning work?
Adult and Pediatric First Aid/CPR/AED is offered in a blended learning format. Participants complete the required online learning before attending the in-person skills session, which lasts 1 to 1½ hours. Both components must be successfully completed to receive the two-year American Red Cross certification.
How long are classes?
Adult and Pediatric First Aid/CPR/AED uses a blended-learning format. Participants complete the required online learning before attending an in-person skills session lasting 1 to 1½ hours. BLS course length varies by format and group size; contact us for scheduling details. Hands-Only CPR presentations last approximately 30 to 45 minutes, and STOP THE BLEED® sessions last approximately 45 to 60 minutes. Naloxone training length is discussed when scheduling.
What certification do participants receive?
Participants who successfully complete Adult and Pediatric First Aid/CPR/AED or Basic Life Support (BLS) receive a two-year American Red Cross certification. Hands-Only CPR is not a certification course. STOP THE BLEED® participants receive a certificate of completion.
How will I receive my certification?
After a participant successfully completes the course, the American Red Cross issues the certification digitally. Participants can access, download, print, and share their certificates online.
Will this certification meet my employer or school requirements?
American Red Cross certifications are widely recognized for workplace and professional requirements. Because requirements vary by employer, school, licensing agency, or organization, participants should confirm the specific certification required before scheduling.
What is the ideal group size?
CPR/AED/First Aid certification classes work best with 6 to 12 participants. Hands-Only CPR presentations generally accommodate up to 30 participants, with multiple sessions available for larger groups. STOP THE BLEED® accommodates up to 10 participants to allow for hands-on practice. BLS classes are designed for 3 to 6 participants. Contact us to discuss your needs.
Can we schedule a private class for our organization?
Absolutely. Private and group classes are available for workplaces, community organizations, schools, and other groups. Contact us to discuss your needs, preferred dates, and location.
What space or equipment is needed for training?
Keystone Preparedness provides the equipment needed for hands-on instruction. The host location should provide enough open space for participants to practice with manikins. Access to a television, projector, or large screen is helpful, but we can provide a projector if needed.
